SeaTac Man Injured in Interstate 5 Semi-Truck Collision [DuPont, WA]

Dupont, WA (February 10, 2022) – On Tuesday, a 45-year-old male passenger from SeaTac sustained injuries in an Interstate 5 semi-truck collision.

The traffic collision happened at about 11:45 a.m. in the freeway’s southbound lane near Mounts Road.

When the officers arrived at the crash scene, they found the truck on its side. It has a cargo of large paper rolls falling out onto the roadway. 

The31-year-old Auburn man driving the big rig did not sustain injuries from the crash. However, his passenger, a 45-year-old SeaTac man, did.

Immediately, the rescuers took the passenger to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia.

Upon investigation, the authorities determined the driver of another vehicle caused the accident.

A 78-year-old DuPont man entered the freeway south from Mounts Road. Then, the driver merged onto the highway in front of the big rig. 

The DuPont man slowed his vehicle, and the big rig driver took evasive action.

The big rig driver drove into the embankment on the right and stuck a barrier. His vehicle rolled over and rested on the right shoulder.

Moreover, the DuPont man stayed on scene and cooperated with the officers’ investigation.
