Sean Stewart Killed in Tragic Head-On Crash on Highway 178 [Kern County, CA]

Kern County, CA (April 03, 2024) On Saturday, 42-year-old Sean Stewart of Onyx died and 3 other people were hurt in a horrific head-on crash on Highway 178.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the fatal collision happened at about 10:31 a.m., west of Doyle Ranch, in between Weldon and Onyx.

Reports say that Stewart was driving an eastbound Subaru that crashed with a westbound Toyota near the solid double yellow line separating the westbound and eastbound lanes of Highway 178.

Officials say that Stewart was pronounced dead at the scene, while his passenger, the Toyota driver, and their passenger were seriously injured and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
