Sean Slade Injured Bicyclist in Hit-and-Run Crash on Camino San Rafael
Glendale, CA (January 01, 2021) – On December 18, 27-year-old Sean Slade of Los Angeles was arrested after stealing a vehicle and injuring a bicyclist in a crash on Camino San Rafael.
The chain of events started at about 7 A.M.
A victim left a car running in their driveway in the 400 Block of West Lexington Drive, someone apparently stole it as they came out.
As officers from the Glendale Police Department (GPD) work on the complaint, they received another report.
A hit-and-run crash on the 2100 block of Camino San Rafael. Apparently, a bicyclist was struck by a vehicle.
Immediately, responders took the bicyclist to a hospital for treatment of multiple injuries that were non-fatal.
As the authorities were responding to the crash, they received a report that a vehicle crashed into two parked vehicles in the driveway of a residence on the 2500 block of Flintridge Drive. The involved driver fled the scene on foot.
Slade Faces Multiple Charges
The authorities determined that the stolen vehicle was the same car that injured the bicyclist and involved in the hit-and-run.
Meanwhile, a witness described the man who fled on foot. The officers located Slade in the area and they took him into custody by Glendale police.
The authorities charged Slade with one felony count each of assault with a deadly weapon — an automobile, and hit-and-run driving resulting in injury to another person. Also, officers charged him with driving or taking a vehicle without consent, along with a misdemeanor count of hit-and-run driving resulting in property damage.
Additionally, he is facing allegations of committing the crime while he was on parole. In addition to inflicting great bodily injury.
Moreover, Slade remained jailed in lieu of $60,000 bail.
His arraignment was on Thursday, December 31, on assault with a deadly weapon and other charges.
