1 Hurt in Los Angeles Scooter Accident on Fourth Street and Main Street
LOS ANGELES, CA (October 28, 2021) – Wednesday afternoon, a scooter rider suffered injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Fourth Street and Main Street.
The incident occurred at around 1:10 p.m. on West Fourth Street and South Main Street.
According to reports, a woman rode a scooter against traffic in the one-way eastbound lanes of West Fourth Street. However, an eastbound 2020 Chevrolet Spark hit her head-on.
As a result, the impact ejected the woman and she fell head first on the sidewalk. Then, the driver went out of the Chevrolet and escaped the crash scene.
Upon the Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics’ arrival, they transported the woman to a hospital with serious injuries. She’s now listed in stable condition.
Eventually, the investigators found out that the involved vehicle was reported stolen out of the LAPD Wilshire Division area.
Meanwhile, the authorities described the driver as a 20- to 25-year-old Hispanic man, 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall. He weighs between 150 and 175 pounds with a tattoo of unknown writing on the right side of his chest. Witnesses last saw him wearing gray pants with a possible camouflage pattern.
Furthermore, the authorities urged anyone with information about the incident to contact LAPD Central Traffic Investigator Diaz at 213-833-3713 or [email protected]. During non-business hours or on weekends, tipsters can turn to 877-527-3247.
Also, anonymous tipsters may contact Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or submit online at lacrimestoppers.org.
If you feel yourself drifting into other lanes due to fatigue or any other reason, safely pull over and rest before continuing to drive. You can also call a friend or an Uber to pick you up if you feel like it would be unsafe to drive.
Ways to Deal with Scooter Accidents
Each year, around 20-50 million people are injured or become disabled due to a crash. To avoid suffering from such incidents, practice safe driving habits on the road at all times.
As a driver, it’s your responsibility to do it even when it is empty, even when there is no police officer around to make sure you make, say, a complete stop.
Even with the best driving habits, it is still important to know what to do if you find yourself in a motor vehicle accident
