1 Detained after Everett Car Collision
EVERETT, WA (February 3, 2020) – Authorities arrested a school bus driver after a DUI Collision on Pine Street on January 30.
According to the Everett Police Department, a woman ran into a parked car at around 6:00 a.m. on Pine Street near 25th and Maple, about a block away from Garfield Park. Following the crash, police arrested the woman on suspicion of DUI.
“Once she started getting closer to me and talking I was like, ‘OK I can now smell the alcohol,’” witness Jessie Fowler said.
“She kept wanting, asking me if she could leave, if she could just give me her number so that she could get to work,” Valerie Springer stated.
Ed Flavin, a spokesperson for Durham School Services, revealed that driver was one of their employees. However, they immediately removed her from service while authorities investigate. The woman drove to work before causing the crash.
The police also confirmed that the woman showed a 0.15 blood alcohol concentration during a breathalyzer test. She was still in custody on Thursday night with a bail set to $100,000.
