Saul Celerino Villanueva Arrested in DUI Crash on Santa Fe Avenue [Vista, CA]

Vista, CA (April 19, 2023) On Monday afternoon, 33-year-old Saul Celerino Villanueva Delgado was arrested after a suspected DUI crash on Santa Fe Avenue.

Reports say that a 2-vehicle collision happened around 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of N. Santa Fe Avenue and Vista Village Drive.

Authorities say that Villanueva was recklessly driving a blue Audi at a high rate of speed. A deputy attempted to stop the Audi but Villanueva made an illegal U-turn and ran the red light at N. Santa Fe and E. California Avenue.

Consequently, Villanueva lost control of the Audi and crashed into the median fence, and collided with a Nissan SUV.

Officials say that the Nissan has 2 occupants, and first responders assisted both occupants out of the SUV.

Medics transported Villanueva and one of the SUV occupants to the hospital for further evaluation. Deputies arrested Saul Celerino Villanueva Delgado on suspicion of DUI.
