68-Year-Old Dies in Solo-Car Collision in Federal Way
FEDERAL WAY, WA (November 24, 2018) – A woman was killed in a car crash on Interstate 5, mid Saturday afternoon. The victim was identified as 68-year-old Sau Chun Leung of Portland.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 2:30 PM in the southbound lanes of the I-5. Based on the report from the troopers, the victim was a passenger of a vehicle that had lost control and crashed into a guardrail in the area.
Leung was trapped in the vehicle and later pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. The driver, identified as a 68-year-old male from Portland, was not injured in the accident. He was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Federal Way for further medical evaluation, but there is no update on his identity or his condition.
A clean up operation was performed while a preliminary investigation was conducted by the authorities. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident and possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
