37-Year-Old Tacoma Woman Fatally Injured in Rollover Collision
COULEE CITY, WA (August 4, 2018) – On Saturday afternoon, a woman was killed, following a DUI crash on State Route 17. The deceased victim was later identified as 37-year-old Sarah Sherman of Tacoma.
A report from the Washington State Patrol showed that the deadly collision happened around 2:20 PM. Sherman was a passenger of a 1999 Ford Expedition that overturned and landed on the rocky area of the highway.
According to witnesses, the SUV, driven by 37-year-old Brent Reiner, lost control, crossed from the southbound lane into the northbound lane and rolled over. Sherman was ejected out of the vehicle onto the road. First responder attempted to rescue the victim, but she went into cardiac arrest and died at the scene.
In a breathalyzer test conducted by the authorities, Reiner was confirmed to be intoxicated at the time of accident. No additional information on the fatal DUI case were released, as it remains under investigation by the WSP at this time. .
