Victims Killed in Fiery Head-On Crash on Highway 85 Identified
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA (September 13, 2019) – Authorities identified 27-year-old Sarah Renazco of Mountain View and 35-year-old Safa Ngo of American Canyon as the victims killed in a wrong-way crash on Highway 85, early Friday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 12:55 AM. Due to unknown reasons, Renazco’s southbound Ford was in the northbound lanes of Highway 85. There, it collided with Ngo’s northbound vehicle near Evelyn Avenue.
Renazco’s vehicle rolled over and landed on its side. Meanwhile, Ngo’s vehicle became fully engulfed in flames as a result of the collision.
Unfortunately, Ngo suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Medical personnel also pronounced Renazco, who was not secured in a seatbelt, dead at the scene.
The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Investigators encourage witnesses to call Officer Ricky Patlan Jr. at (650) 369-6261. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
