Male Pedestrian Lying in the Roadway Fatally Struck by Vehicles in Santa Margarita
SANTA MARGARITA, CA (December 15, 2018) – A man was killed following a pedestrian crash Saturday morning in Santa Margarita.
The fatal incident happened around 5:43 a.m. at the intersection of West Pozo Road and Las Pilitas Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was lying in the roadway when he was struck by a Templeton driver, and then struck again by a Santa Margarita resident driving in the opposite lane.
The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
One of the involved vehicles was described as a gray Honda Civic.
There was heavy fog in the area at the time, CHP officials said.
It is unknown if charges has been filed and liability has not yet been determined. The incident is still under investigation.
