Early Morning 2-Vehicle Wreck on Main Street in Santa Ana Leaves One Dead
SANTA ANA, CA (December 9, 2018) – A man was killed following a two-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Santa Ana, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 2:57 a.m. on Main Street off-ramp from the southbound lanes of 5 Freeway, just about to go under the over crossing.
The vehicles involved were not described and the cause of the crash has not yet been determined. When officers arrived, they located one vehicle on the right shoulder and another one in the center divider. Both vehicles sustained major damage.
A male occupant in one of the vehicles was ejected during the crash. A coroner was dispatched to the scene and pronounced the man dead.
An initial log indicated that the crash spread further down the ramp on the eastbound side of the freeway.
Further details of the crash, including the identity of the victim, were not immediately available. The incident remains under investigation.
