Sandy Almanza Dead in Fatal Traffic Crash on Interstate 10 and Mile Marker 33 [El Paso, TX]

1 Person Killed in El Paso Auto Accident on Interstate 10 and Mile Marker 33

EL PASO, TX (August 5, 2024) – Sunday morning, Sandy Almanza died in a fatal traffic crash on Interstate 10 and Mile Marker 33.

Reports said that the incident happened at around 1:20 a.m. on Interstate 10 and Mile Marker 33.

According to the El Paso Police Department, a westbound white car and a westbound silver car collided while attempting to change lanes at the same time. Then, the force of the crash pushed the silver car to crash into a semi-truck and a trailer that was stationary on the right emergency lane.

Responding paramedics pronounced the driver of the silver car, identified as 49-year-old Almanza, dead at the scene.

As a result of the crash, Interstate 10 West was closed for several hours but has long since reopened.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the EPPD continued to investigate the crash.
