Early Morning 2-Vehicle Wreck on Highway 101 in San Rafael
SAN RAFAEL, CA (November 24, 2018) – Injuries and damage were reported following a two-vehicle collision early Saturday morning in San Rafael.
The collision happened around 2:12 a.m. on northbound Highway 101 near Marinwood Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a silver sedan spun out and crashed into the center divider for unknown reasons. A white Cargo minivan then collided into the sedan. The impact caused moderate front-end damage on both vehicles.
Injuries were sustained in the accident but the exact number of patients was not immediately known. An ambulance unit was dispatched to the scene to provide medical attention.
Tow trucks were also called to remove the vehicles from the wreckage.
The fourth and fifth lanes of the highway were shut down during the rescue and clearing operations.
Authorities are looking further into the accident to determine the factors involved and liability.
