Evening 2-Car Wreck on Highway 92 in San Mateo Sends Two People to Hospital
SAN MATEO, CA (December 19, 2018) – Major injuries were sustained following a two-car crash Wednesday evening in San Mateo.
The crash happened around 7:43 p.m. on the eastbound direction of Highway 92.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a black Mercedes-Benz and a silver Honda Civic collided, one of them had possibly overturned and caught fire. Debris from crash was scattered all over the highway.
Fire crews responded to the scene and found two patients with major injuries. The victims were transported to Stanford University Medical Center in unknown conditions.
The highway was blocked in both directions during the rescue and clearing operations.
The specific cause of the crash and who may be at fault remain under investigation.
