SAN MARTIN, CA – Pedestrian Fatally Struck at Monterey Road and Church Avenue

Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Monterey Road near Gilroy

 
SAN MARTIN, CA (November 16, 2018) – A pedestrian was fatally struck late Friday afternoon at the intersection of Monterey Road and Church Avenue.
 
The fatal crash happened around 5:51 p.m., according to the CHP. When officers arrived on the scene, they located a male pedestrian lying in the middle of the left lane. The involved vehicle was also found in the area.
 
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene but despite the life saving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries. His identity was not immediately available pending next of kin notification.
 
Southbound lanes were shut down for the on-scene investigation.
