Early Morning Crash on 880 Freeway in San Leandro Injures One Motorist
SAN LEANDRO, CA (January 19, 2019) – One person was injured following a two-car crash early Saturday morning in San Leandro.
The crash happened around 12:10 a.m. on northbound 880 Freeway at Marina Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a green Lexus SUV and a black sedan collided for unknown reasons. The impact caused one car to overturn down the ditch where it landed on its roof. The other was blocking the slow lane.
One of the drivers sustained a leg injury and an ambulance unit was requested to take the patient to a hospital.
Both cars sustained significant damage and were towed away from the wreckage.
The specific cause of the crash and who may be at fault remain under investigation.
