Afternoon Crash on Ortega Highway at Caspers Park Road Sends Two People to Hospital
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA (March 23, 2019) – Two people were hospitalized following an auto crash on Highway 74 Saturday afternoon on Ortega Highway.
Authorities responded to the collision around 2:35 p.m. on Highway 76. First responders arrived at Caspers Park Road, just near Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park soon after.
According to initial reports, a westbound vehicle was traveling on the highway when it crashed for unknown reasons.
Firefighters responded to the scene and located two people who needed to be freed from the wreckage. The injured victims were then transported to a trauma center with unspecified injuries.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash. State officials also want to identify possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once available.
