SUV Crashes into Patrol Car in Accident on Tully Road
SAN JOSE, CA (January 2, 2019) – Wednesday morning, a San Jose Police Officer was involved in a two vehicle car crash on King Road.
The San Jose Police Department stated the crash occurred around 2:00 AM at the intersection of Tully Road and King Road.
As per reports, the officer was traveling north on South King Road when he was broadsided by a Honda SUV traveling west on Tully Road. The patrol car was heavily damaged and had to be towed. The SUV driver claimed he had a green light when the police car came out of nowhere and smashed into him, however he was cited for running a red light.
Paramedics transported the officer to a nearby hospital for further medical evaluation. The SUV had multiple people inside, but no one was in need of any medical attention as they only sustained minor injuries. Officer has since been released from the hospital, but his current medical status had not been disclosed.
