3 Cars Involved in Early Morning DUI Crash on Highway 101 in San Jose
SAN JOSE, CA (January 12, 2019) – Several injuries were reported following a three-car crash involving a DUI driver early Saturday morning in San Jose.
The crash happened around 12:06 a.m. on southbound Highway 101 at Tully Road.
According to the CHP, a silver Subaru WRX, a black Mercedes-Benz and a green Honda Accord collided. Details of how the crash occurred were not immediately available, but one of the cars caught fire.
Multiple parties, including a woman who was standing outside of the Honda, were hit by one of the cars. The patients were reportedly bleeding and transported by ambulance to a hospital.
A male and female occupants of the Mercedes were walking away from the crash site, according to an initial log. The male driver of the Mercedes was believed to have been driving under the influence of alcohol.
The incident is still on active investigation while the authorities are putting the pieces together.
