Car Crashes into Pole on Highway 101 in San Jose, Fatality Reported
SAN JOSE, CA (March 2, 2019) – At least one person was killed following a car accident Saturday morning on Highway 101 in San Jose.
The fatal crash happened around 5:20 a.m. along the southbound lanes of the highway, just South of Yerba Buena Road on-ramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a sedan had drifted off the right shoulder and struck a pole, before going down into a ditch.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene and found at least one fatality as a result of the accident. The identity of the victim was not immediately available pending next of kin notification.
There were no official reports stating what caused the crash or how it exactly transpired. Authorities are looking further into the accident.
