Sedan and Pickup Truck Collide on 87 Freeway in San Jose, Injuries and Damage Reported
SAN JOSE, CA (January 21, 2019) – One person was injured following a two-vehicle collision Monday morning at the intersection of 87 Freeway and 85 Freeway.
The collision happened around 8:10 a.m. involving a red Kia Optima and a white Toyota Tacoma.
While the cause of the crash has not yet been determined, one occupant in the Toyota was injured and had complained of pain. The impact also caused moderate rear-end damage on the Toyota and major front-end damage on the Kia.
San Jose police requested an ambulance unit to transport the injured patient to a hospital. Towing services were also dispatched to the scene to remove the damaged vehicles from the crash site.
It is unknown if speed, drugs and/or alcohol have played a role in the crash. An investigation is still ongoing.
