Rider Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Highway 101 in San Jose
SAN JOSE, CA (February 2, 2019) – A motorcyclist was killed following a traffic collision early Saturday morning in San Jose, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal collision happened around 2:04 a.m. on Highway 101 near Bailey Road.
An initial log indicated that a motorcycle was hit by an unknown vehicle, sending both the bike and rider down the roadway.
San Jose firefighters responded to the scene and located the rider with fatal injuries. The name, age and town of residence of the victim were not immediately available pending next of kin notification.
A SigAlert has been issued in the area, blocking all freeway lanes of the on-scene investigation.
