Late Evening Pedestrian Accident on Highway 101 in San Jose Turns Deadly
SAN JOSE, CA (January 11, 2019) – A man was killed following a pedestrian accident late Friday evening on Highway 101 in San Jose.
The fatal crash happened around 11:30 p.m. along the southbound lanes of the highway, just South of Tully Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a male pedestrian wearing a dark clothing was walking into traffic lanes towards the center, when he was struck by a Toyota Sienna minivan.
An ambulance unit was dispatched to the scene and attempted life-saving measures. Sadly, the man did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene. Information on his identity was not immediately available.
The driver of the minivan told officers that the victim jumped in front of him while he was parked on the right shoulder.
It is unknown if charges has been filed and liability has not yet been determined. The incident is still under investigation.
