12-Year-Old Struck by Vehicle on North 17th Street and East Julian Street
SAN JOSE, CA (March 12, 2018) – A 12-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle and injured in a hit-and-run collision on North 17th Street on Monday morning.
The incident occurred around 8:50 AM on North 17th Street and East Julian Street in San Jose. Surveillance footage from a residential home in the area shows the victim crossing the street and a vehicle making a left turn onto 17th Street hitting her.
The car did not yield before hitting the girl, sped away, and left the girl in the middle of the road after the collision. The victim tried to get back up to her knees as a car was coming from the other direction. The second vehicle stopped and the driver got out to help the girl.
was rushed to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect vehicle was described to be a borwn, 1998 to early 2000’s, four-door Toyota Camry. It was last seen driving northbound on North 17th St, according to police. The hit-and-run driver of the Toyota was said to be a white woman with brown hair, between the age of 40 to 50 years old.
