SAN JACINTO, CA – One Killed in Head-On Crash on Highway 79 at Gilman Springs Road

Late Evening Head-On Crash in San Jacinto Kills One Motorist

 
SAN JACINTO, CA (January 29, 2019) – One person was killed following a head-on collision late Tuesday evening in San Jacinto.
 
The collision happened around 11:12 p.m. on northbound Highway 79 at Gilman Springs Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, two vehicles collided head-on, sending one vehicle over the side. The driver in the overturned car was found trapped inside the vehicle and was reportedly unresponsive.
 
A coroner was dispatched to the scene and confirmed the fatality of the accident. The identity of the victim has not yet been released pending next of kin notification.
 
Both northbound lanes of Highway 79 were blocked for about an hour while evidence from the scene was collected and photographed.
 
The incident remains under investigation.
