Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Car on 80 Freeway in San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (January 7, 2019) – A man was killed following a pedestrian crash late Monday evening in Francisco, authorities said.
The incident happened around 11:44 p.m. along the eastbound lanes of 80 Freeway at Bryant Street, adjacent to 5th Street on-ramp.
According to an initial report by the CHP, a white male adult was seen lying in the middle of the roadway after being struck by a white Ford Fusion.
Paramedics responded and attempted life-saving aid to the victim, but unsuccessful. The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A SigAlert was issued in the area, blocking all lanes for about an hour while evidence from the scene was collected and photographed. Motorists were advised to use alternate routes.
Details are sparse on who was involved and what exactly transpired. The incident remains under investigation.
