Toyota Driver Killed in Interstate 8 Collision
San Diego, CA (December 21, 2021) – On Monday, a 54-year-old San Diego woman died in a DUI crash on Interstate 8.
The collision happened just before 11:25 p.m. near Ocean Beach.
An eastbound blue Subaru Outback driven by a 24-year-old Sacramento man in the westbound lanes crashed head-on into a gold Toyota Camry driven by the San Diego woman.
Officers said there was debris all over the road and that people inside the two vehicles were not responding.
Unfortunately, the Toyota driver lost her life at the scene.
Meanwhile, the Subaru driver incurred major injuries. Rescuers took him to a hospital and later arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Reports said the suspect will be later booked into jail.
