2 People Hit by an SUV While Walking on Organ Pavillion
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 8, 2018) – A 77-year-old driver struck and injured a woman and a man with an SUV in Balboa Park, Thursday evening.
The victims, a 20-year-old woman, and a 23-year-old man were heading west in a marked crosswalk from the Organ Pavillion in the 2100 block of Pan America Plaza Road. A silver Toyota Highlander was heading south when it hit the pedestrians, said San Diego Police.
The woman received multiple life-threatening injuries, while the man suffered a concussion and multiple abrasions. They were rushed to a nearby hospital by emergency personnel for immediate medical treatment. The SUV driver was unharmed in the accident.
Drugs and alcohol are not considered to be a factor in the incident. There have been no charges filed against the SUV driver at this time. Witnesses with additional information are encouraged to contact the San Diego Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
