31-Year-Old Man Hospitalized after Struck by Car near Sports Arena Boulevard
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 5, 2018) – A man was struck and injured in a pedestrian collision on Rosecrans Street, in the Midway District of San Diego, early Saturday morning.
According to San Diego Police Department Officer Robert Heims, the accident happened around 12:30 AM at the 3700 block of Rosecrans St, near Sports Arena Boulevard and Camino Del Rio West.
A 32-year-old man was driving a 2006 Infiniti G35 southbound on Rosecrans in the number 2 lane. At the same time, a 31-year-old man was walking in the same lane, when the vehicle struck him. It is unclear which direction the man was walking at the time of the crash.
The pedestrian suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment and evaluation. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the collision, but drugs and alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors.
