50-Year-Old Bicyclist Hospitalized after Crash on 41st Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 15, 2018) – A 50-year-old man was hospitalized early Tuesday evening after a bicycle collision on El Cajon Boulevard.
According to the San Diego Police, the crash happened before 7 PM in the 4300 block of 41st Street. The unidentified bicyclist was headed south approaching the intersection at El Cajon Boulevard when a westbound 2010 Dodge Caliber, driven by a 33-year-old woman, struck him.
The cyclist was rushed to a nearby hospital after sustaining life-threatening injuries. There is no update on his current medical condition. The Dodge driver was reportedly unharmed in the collision. She remained at the scene and cooperated with officials.
Evidence suggests that drugs and alcohol did not play a role in the accident. Further investigation is being conducted by traffic division officers, and no additional information is available at this time.
