SAN CLEMENTE, CA – One Killed in Car Crash on 5 Freeway at Cristianitos Road

SUV Involved in Deadly Crash on 5 Freeway in San Clemente

 
SAN CLEMENTE, CA (March 7, 2019) – At least one person was killed following a car accident Thursday morning in San Clemente.
 
The fatal crash happened around 6:37 a.m. on southbound 5 Freeway at Cristianitos Road off-ramp.
 
According to an initial dispatch, a white SUV hit an unknown object in the slow lane of 5 Freeway. Soon after, officers arrived at the scene. Police stated the car was on the right hand shoulder and a fatal victim was located.
 
The name, age and town of residence of the victim were not immediately available pending next of kin notification.
 
A SigAlert was issued in the area, blocking two lanes of southbound 5 Freeway while officers and crews worked on the scene.
