Minivan and 2 Big Rigs Involved in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash in San Bernardino
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (December 19, 2018) – One person was killed following a fiery hit-and-run crash late Wednesday evening in San Bernardino.
The crash happened around 11:35 p.m. on eastbound 210 Freeway, just West of H Street.
According to an initial report by the California Highway Patrol, a big rig caused a minivan to lose control and crashed into another big rig. The minivan overturned on its side and caught fire.
First responders located the minivan smashed into the rear of the big rig. Firefighter paramedics worked to free the driver of the minivan who was trapped in the wreckage but determined the individual was deceased on scene.
The driver of the second big rig was uninjured.
Witnesses say the driver of the first big rig that caused the crash left the scene.
No identifying information on either party is being released at this time. This incident is still under investigation.
