Fatal Early Morning Pedestrian Accident on Kendall Drive in San Bernardino
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (April 15, 2019) – A 50-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian accident early Monday morning in San Bernardino.
The fatal crash happened around 2:30 a.m. in the area of Kendall Drive and Palm Avenue.
According to the CHP, a male pedestrian wearing dark clothing was crossing Kendall Drive mid-block when he was struck by a gray Jeep Cherokee that was traveling westbound, approaching Palm Avenue.
The man, a San Bernardino resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has been withheld by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s office pending family notification.
The driver of the Jeep, a 19-year-old San Bernardino woman, saw the man on her approach and tried to avoid hitting him, but unsuccessful. She stayed at the scene and talked to authorities.
Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor, police said.
There was also no arrest made, but the incident is still under investigation.
