1 Injured in Fairfield Auto Accident on Wast Travis Boulevard and Rayburn Court
FAIRFIELD, CA (January 1, 2024) – Friday afternoon, Samuel Sodden was arrested in a startling pursuit crash on East Travis Boulevard and Rayburn Court.
The incident happened at around 2:00 p.m. when officers noticed a stolen vehicle out of Napa in the area of North Texas Street and Airbase Parkway. Thus, officers tried to stop it near the 300 block of East Tabor Avenue.
However, the driver declined to pull over and a pursuit was initiated. As a result, the vehicle crashed with another vehicle at East Travis and Rayburn Court, and the two occupants escaped on foot.
Meanwhile, officers quickly apprehended the passenger. Then, he started climbing fences going eastbound.
Eventually, officers found the driver as he emerged from a backyard in the 500 block of Arkansas Street.
Also, the other driver involved in the traffic collision sustained a knee injury.
Meanwhile, after being cleared at a local hospital, officers booked the driver of the stolen vehicle, 32-year-old Vodden, into county jail.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
