32-Year-Old Samuel Laguna Arrested in Convoy Street Collision [San Diego, CA]

San Diego, CA (January 12, 2024) – 32-year-old Samuel Laguna was arrested following a Convoy Street collision Wednesday night.

A North Coastal Sheriff’s Station deputy saw a black Ford 150 truck that was traveling at an unsafe speed. Officers believed the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs and initiated a traffic stop.

The driver, Samuel Laguna, did not yield and the authorities started a chase. The pursuit went on streets and onto the eastbound 52 Freeway.

Officers said that while on pursuit, Laguna committed multiple traffic violations and at the intersection of Convoy Street and Balboa Avenue, Laguna’s vehicle collided with several other vehicles. 

Immediately, rescuers rushed two individuals to an area hospital with minor injuries. 

Responders also evaluated others at the scene and did not incur injuries.

Later on, the authorities arrested Laguna, who was the sole occupant of the truck, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol with injury, driving under the influence while on DUI probation, and felony evading.

Officers took Laguna to the hospital before they booked him into jail.
