Ella Bryley Hurt in Fatal Solo-Car Crash on US 287
Goodnight, TX (November 17, 2023) On Wednesday evening, 77-year-old Samuel Kinley Shoels died and 61-year-old Ella Bryley was hurt in a solo-car crash on US 287.
DPS say that the fatal single-vehicle accident happened at abut 10:15 p.m. on US-287 near mile marker 158.
Reports say that Shoels and Bryley, both of Clarendon, were on a northbound 2007 Buick LeSabre that drove off the roadway and through a grassy bar ditch and collided with a tree.
Authorities pronounced Shoels dead at the scene, while Bryley was rushed to a hospital.
Officials are investigating the possible cause of the fatal crash and have not released additional details at this time.
