Sammy Ray Hartzog Dead in Redding Accident on Railroad and Eugenia Avenue
REDDING, CA (April 22, 2021) – On Wednesday afternoon, Sammy Hartzog, 59, died in a motorcycle crash on Railroad Avenue and Eugenia Avenue.
According to Redding police Cpl. Michael DiMatteo, the incident happened at around 4:19 p.m.
Moreover, it occurred at the intersection of Railroad Avenue and Eugenia Avenue.
Reports revealed that the collision involved a motorcycle and a dark-colored sedan.
Furthermore, authorities confirmed that an unidentified man in his 50s or 60s died in the crash.
The Shasta County Coroner’s office later identified the victim as Millville resident Sammy Ray Hartzog.
Also, the occupants of the sedan sustained no injuries in the incident.
Meanwhile, officers said that no arrests have been made as of this moment, and it is still unknown if drugs and alcohol played a role in the crash.
Police blocked Railroad Avenue north of Laurel Avenue to give way to the investigation.
