Samantha Mararac Killed, Two Others Injured in Federal Way Crash
Federal Way, WA (December 05, 2021) – On Saturday, 26-year-old Samantha Mararac of Tacoma, died in a DUI crash on Interstate 5.
It was about 1:45 a.m. when a minivan rear-ended the 2007 Volkswagen New Beetle Mararac was a passenger of.
Reports said that a 2012 Ford F-150 was disabled and blocking a southbound lane of the freeway. Then, a 2012 Chrysler 300 and the vehicle Mararac was in, stopped behind the Ford to get around it.
Suddenly, the driver of a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan rear-ended the Beetle. The Beetle then stopped on the same lane and the sedan was also on the same lane. It stopped facing the wrong way.
Meanwhile, the minivan continued driving south and struck the sedan before it stopped in another lane.
Mararac died in the crash while the driver and another passenger in the Beetle sustained injuries.
Later on, the officers arrested the 43-year-old man driving the van. They cited him on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular homicide.
Reports said that all drivers and passengers involved in the crash has their seatbelts on during the crash.
