Samantha Lin Dies after Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Highway 29
ST. HELENA, CA (March 7, 2019) – A 25-year-old woman died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 29 on August 5.
Two southbound vehicles struck a woman who walked onto Highway 29 south of Mee Lane. The crash happened at 9:00 p.m. which led to the closure of the highway for an hour and a half between Rutherford Road and Zinfandel Lane.
Moreover, the Napa County Coroner identified the deceased as Samantha Lin from Raleigh, North Carolina.
The CHP said the pedestrian walked across the southbound traffic lane a short distance in front of 18-year-old Madison Degraw of Winters in a sedan.
The vehicle then struck the pedestrian, then 38-year-old Julianna Beard another sedan traveling directly behind hit Samantha Lin.
Napa County Fire came to the scene to free the pedestrian stuck under the sedan. She died at the scene.
It’s unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. However, police are looking into the accident.
