Salvador Almanza Arrested after DUI Crash on Highway 198 [Hanford, CA]

2 Injured and 1 Arrested after Head-On Crash near Houston Avenue

 
HANFORD, CA (March 22, 2019) – Authorities arrested 38-year-old Salvador Almanza after a DUI collision near Houston Avenue, early Friday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on Highway 198, shortly before 3:30 AM. A westbound Honda Civic, driven by Almanza, entered the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with another Honda Civic.
 
Emergency responders transported the 29-year-old Honda Civic driver and her passenger to Kaweah Delta Hospital for moderate injuries. Meanwhile, CHP arrested Almanza for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
 
An investigation is ongoing to identify other possible contributing factors. Investigators encourage witnesses to cooperate with them as soon as possible. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
