Sally C. Rouse and 7-Year-Old Girl Killed in Car Accident on State Route 702
Yelm, WA (January 03, 2021) – On Saturday, 30-year-old Sally Rouse and 7-year-old child died in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 702.
Washington State Patrol responded to the crash scene at around 1:30 p.m. on 8th Avenue East.
When they arrived, they located both vehicles blocking the intersection.
Rescuers airlifted two passengers in one of the vehicles to a nearby hospital.
WSP said both the female driver of the car, Ms. Rouse of Puyallup, and the 7-year-old child involved in the crash, lost their lives.
Apparently, a tan sedan was driving without a passenger side window. Instead, it has strips of clear tape.
The driver was stopped on 8th Avenue facing north.
Witnesses said the driver pulled in front of the second vehicle, a pickup traveling west.
The pickup was close to the 55 mph speed limit when it struck the car.
Furthermore, WSP Trooper Ryan Burke said it was possible the driver couldn’t see out their window, aside from the bad weather as the leading factor of the crash.
Meanwhile, both passengers in the truck sustained injuries from the crash.
Authorities are still investigating the fatal Yelm accident.
Sweet Lawyers extends our genuine condolences to the family and friends of Sally Rouse and the young girl. May you find courage during this time of sorrow.
