Sadef Shamon Airlifted in Coca-Cola Accident in Stanislaus County

Stanislaus County, CA (May 13, 2021) – On Wednesday, a driver was injured in a Coca-Cola truck-sedan crash on Highway 108.

The Stanislaus County accident took place before 5:30 a.m. east of Lancaster Road.

Officers said the sedan crossed over double-yellow lines and collided with the truck. The sedan flipped over on its side, while the truck was separated from its back wheels.

Right away, emergency responders airlifted the sedan driver, Mr. Shamon, with minor injuries.

The Coca-Cola truck driver was not injured in the accident.

Meanwhile, authorities implemented one-way traffic control in the area. Drivers were advised to use an alternate route or expect heavy delays.

You need to be fully focused while driving, but all that focus need not be on the car before you.

In order to take in, process, and respond to everything happening on the road, you have to constantly scan the road about half to a full mile ahead. This way, you can tell if you’ll need to let go of the gas pedal and prepare for a stop.

Be a Defensive Driver

While driving is essential for many in order to move about in their lives, it is one of the most dangerous activities performed daily. That is because auto accidents are a major public health threat. Traffic accidents are a leading cause of death for individuals ages 5-64.

Thus it is indeed crucial that everyone drives defensively in order to avoid traffic accidents as much as possible.

Here are some of the things that we can do to practice defensive driving:

Always drive at a controllable speed.

Also, do not assume you know the other driver’s intention.

Be prepared to positively react to other drivers.

This one, we should never neglect. Yield at intersections, even if you have right of way.

Most importantly, stay focused on the road. Remove all distractions such as mobile phone use, unstrapped toddlers, etc.
