51-Year-Old Woman Dies after Struck by Car near E Street Exit
SACRAMENTO, CA (May 3, 2018) – A 51-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a car on Interstate 80 Business (Elvas Freeway), on Thursday night.
The incident started around 7 PM, when the unidentified woman was driving an Audi on the Elvas Freeway and was rear-ended near the E Street exit. The second vehicle was a BMW, driven by a 28-year-old man. After the crash, the two drivers pulled over on the side of northbound Business 80 to talk about the damage.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the man got back into his vehicle and then struck the woman with his car, for reasons not yet known. The woman was rushed to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Her identity has not yet been released to the public at this time.
CHP stated that the man pulled over and cooperated with investigators. The deadly collision is still under investigation and no further details were immediately released.
