Afternoon Collision with Semi Truck and SUV on Highway 50 in Sacramento, Major Injuries Sustained
SACRAMENTO, CA (December 28, 2018) – At least one person was seriously injured following a traffic collision between a semi truck and an SUV in Sacramento.
The collision happened around 12:46 p.m. on eastbound Highway 50, just West of 15th Street off-ramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a black SUV crashed into the center divider and into a tow truck. The truck then clipped the SUV, causing the car to roll off the side of the highway.
Fire crews responded to the scene and found at least one occupant with major injuries. The badly injured patient was transported to a hospital in an unknown condition.
Towing services were requested to remove the crushed SUV from the collision scene.
There were no official reports stating what caused the crash. Authorities are looking further into the accident to determine the factors involved and liability.
