Speeding Vehicle Overturns and Catches Fire on Highway 50 in Sacramento, Fatality Reported
SACRAMENTO, CA (March 15, 2019) – One person was killed following a fiery rollover crash late Friday evening in Sacramento.
The fatal crash happened around 11:43 p.m. eastbound Highway 50 at Folsom Boulevard off-ramp.
According to police, an unknown vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, more than 100 mph, and tried to take the exit when it failed to negotiate a curve. It then overturned and caught fire.
One occupant of the vehicle, believe to be the driver, was pronounced dead at the scene.
All lanes of the highway were closed for the on-scene investigation.
