Deadly Afternoon Crash on 5 Freeway at Garden Highway

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (December 29, 2018) – At least one person was killed following a traffic accident Saturday afternoon on 5 Freeway in Sacramento.
 
The crash happened around 2:48 p.m. on the southbound direction of 5 Freeway at Garden Highway.
 
Details of how the crash occurred were not immediately available, but fire crews responded to the scene and located a gray Dodge Ram pickup truck on the right shoulder.
 
An ambulance unit was also dispatched to the scene and found at least one fatality as a result of the accident.
 
No identifying information on either party is being released at this time. This incident is still under investigation.
