Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Car on 55th Street in Sacramento

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (February 5, 2019) – A man was killed following a suspected hit-and-run pedestrian crash early Tuesday morning at the intersection of 55th Street and Florin Road.
 
The fatal incident happened around 12:47 a.m. just in front a gas station.
 
According to an initial report by the California Highway Patrol, a silver sedan ran over a male body that was lying in the roadway. The man was bleeding from the head, still unclear if he was struck by another vehicle prior to the second crash.
 
Sacramento firefighters responded to the scene and pronounced the man dead. The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
 
An ongoing investigation continues to determine the mechanics of the crash, as well as the circumstances surrounding the incident.
