Early Morning Crash on Highway 51 near Arden Way Exit Kills Sacramento Man

SACRAMENTO, CA (November 23, 2018) – A 35-year-old Sacramento man was killed following a traffic collision early Friday morning on Highway 51 near Arden Way off-ramp.

The fatal crash happened around 12:23 a.m. when the man lost control of his gray sedan, spun off the roadway and hit a guardrail.

The car then came to a rest facing the wrong way and was then hit by an oncoming Ford F150 pickup truck. The driver of the sedan suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Sacramento police.

All lanes were closed as officers cleared the scene, but they were re-opened around 3:30 a.m.

No identifying information on either party is being released at this time. This incident is still under investigation.
