Hunter Kipp, Ryan Wrzesien, and Makayla Wright Injured in Possible DUI Crash near Naneum Road

 
ELLENSBURG, WA (April 24, 2018) – Three people were injured in a head-on collision on East Vantage Highway in Kittitas County, late Tuesday night.
 
According to reports, the accident took place around 11:40 PM, near Naneum Road. 20-year-old Ryan Wrzesien of Ellensburg was driving a 2001 Honda Accord westbound on the highway. At the same time, 20-year-old Makayla Wright of Ellensburg was traveling eastbound, when she crossed the center line and crashed her Dodge Caliber into Wrzesien’s vehicle head-on.
 
Kittitas Valley Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene of the crash, alongside investigators. Wrzesien was removed from his car by crew members, and airlifted to the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious, but non-life threatening, injuries. His passenger, 19-year-old Hunter Kipp, also from Ellensburg, suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from KVH.
 
Wright suffered multiple broken bones and severe injuries, and was taken to the KVH Hospital for treatment and evaluation. She faces charges of vehicular assault and is being held without bail at the Kittitas County Correctional Center.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the collision, and believe that alcohol is a contributing factor. They wait on toxicology results at this time. No additional information was immediately released.
