1 Person Arrested in San Luis Obispo Auto Accident on Highway 101 near Broad Street
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (October 28, 2023) – Wednesday afternoon, authorities arrested Ryan Johnson after an alarming wrong-way crash on Highway 101 near Broad Street.
The incident happened at around 3:45 p.m. on Highway 101 near Broad Street.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a northbound vehicle traveling in the southbound lanes collided with a car being driven by Pamela Mays. Then, the force of the crash pushed the wrong-way vehicle to spin out of control and crash with a Ram 3500 truck being driven by Abram Ramirez.
Moreover, authorities arrested the 47-year-old wrong-way driver of San Luis Obispo, on suspicion of hit and run and driving under the influence. Then, paramedics transported Mays with major injuries, and Johnson with minor injuries, to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for treatment.
At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
